About the DCBA Young Lawyers Section

Practicing law often requires building healthy relationships with courthouses, members of the judiciary, and other attorneys. Young or newly admitted lawyers come into the profession with few of these relationships, so their task not only requires them to get acquainted with a demanding career, but it also requires them to build an enormous network of relationships virtually from scratch.

The Dade County Bar’s Young Lawyers Section was founded in 1952 to address that very problem. The YLS has always understood that the better an attorney’s relationships, the more equipped they are to serve their clients and communities. For decades, the YLS has hosted meetings and seminars to provide young attorneys with the knowledge and network they need to practice law effectively, honestly, and ethically.

After decades of service, the YLS has provided multiple generations of attorneys with invaluable resources, which has improved our legal community as a whole. Their work is vital to the health of legal practice in Dade County, and we look forward to working with them to continue serving and empowering the newest attorneys in our field.
