Understanding the Best Lawyers Methodology
Best Lawyers has a comprehensive and meticulous selection process that includes nominations from across the legal industry, primarily from former clients and colleagues at other law firms.
Nominees are then asked to rate their colleagues based on their professional abilities, with the key question being: “If you were unable to take a case yourself, how likely would you be to refer it to this nominee?” This helps ensure that only the most highly regarded practitioners are considered. The nominees are further vetted through each state bar to verify their standing with respective ethics committees.
