Attorney A. Dax Bello
Skilled Florida Personal Injury Lawyer
A. Dax Bello has spent most of his legal career representing clients whose lives have been catastrophically impacted by the negligent, criminal, or otherwise tortious conduct of others. As an attorney at Stewart Tilghman Fox Bianchi & Cain, P.A., Dax has procured more than $75M in settlements and verdicts for the firm’s clients in a wide range of cases, including wrongful death, birth injury, medical malpractice, defective products, auto negligence, construction accidents, sexual assault, and liquor liability. He has also helped recover more than $30 million for governmental agencies resulting from his work in qui tam (whistleblower) matters.
Prior to joining Stewart Tilghman Fox Bianchi & Cain, P.A., Dax was an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County where he prosecuted dozens of cases to verdict, including Homicide, Armed Home Invasion Robbery, Armed Narcotics Trafficking, and other violent crimes. He was also a member of the State Attorney’s Office’s prestigious Traffic Homicide Unit. The experience he obtained at the State Attorney’s Office translated perfectly into the world of civil trial work. Many of the cases he now handles involve a criminal component with a parallel criminal prosecution. His contacts within the State Attorney’s Office and the local law enforcement agencies are crucial to the effective civil prosecution of the life-changing cases he handles.
Dax earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Miami (B.A. 2005) and attained a Juris Doctor degree with Honors from St. Thomas University School of Law (J.D. 2008). While a law student, Dax was a member of STU’s internationally acclaimed Intercultural Human Rights Law Review, as well as its International Moot Court Board where he competed internationally in the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition, attaining a rank of Third in the Southeast Super Regional. He was also a founding Executive Board Member of the school’s Cuban American Student Bar Association (CASBA).
In addition to his law practice, Dax is proud of his extracurricular volunteer activities, helping local and national not-for-profit organizations further their missions. He currently sits as a Commissioner of the Miami-Dade County’s Continuing Justice Reform Commission (2021-present). He is also a board member of the Miami-Dade Trial Lawyers Association (2022-Present) and the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana (2010 – Present).
In the past, Dax served as a board member of the Cuban American Bar Association (CABA) from 2011 – 2020 and as its President in 2021. He chaired all of CABA’s committees and managed its Pro Bono Legal Services office, which provides free legal services to thousands of poor Floridians yearly, including victims of human trafficking and domestic violence, as well as legal issues faced by veterans. He has also served as a board member of the American Red Cross – Greater Miami and the Florida Keys Chapter (2018-22); Latin Builder’s Association (2013-17); Legal Services of Greater Miami (2013-15); and the Cuban American Bar Foundation (2017-22).
In 2021, Dax served as a liaison member of the Florida Bar’s Board of Governors and, from 2015 to 2021, as a member of the Florida Bar’s Florida Rules of Civil Procedure Committee, shaping the rules governing the cases he handles. In 2019, Dax was honored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as a Top 40 Under 40 Outstanding Lawyers of South Florida, and in 2020, the Miami Dolphins honored him with their Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award.
