Even more impressively, Mr. Bianchi was named the Best Lawyers© 2021 Personal Injury Litigation “Lawyer of the Year” in Miami, making him the only Miami personal injury lawyer to receive the award this year.
Mr. Bianchi has been selected by The Best Lawyers in America© to their annual publication every year since 2012, making this year the 10th time he has been included. This is also the fifth year that he has received the “Lawyer of the Year” award, securing the award in 2019, 2017, 2016, and 2013. In previous years, he has received the award for his work in Personal Injury Litigation as well as his work in Product Liability Litigation.
David Bianchi’s Game-Changing Legal Career
David has been practicing law since 1979, earning a reputation for his trial skills and his ability to win cases against large corporations. He has represented clients against Toyota, Nissan, Chrysler, and other major carmakers. He was the first attorney in the country to obtain a successful jury verdict against Mercedes-Benz for a defective airbag.
Additionally, David is known for his achievements in the fight against fraternity hazing. He has become one of the foremost anti-hazing lawyers in the country, winning the nation’s largest hazing verdict ($14 million) on behalf of the family of Chad Meredith, who died in a fraternity-related hazing event at the University of Miami. After the court victory, David was instrumental in creating the law that made fatal hazing a felony in Florida: the Chad Meredith Act.
More recently, David and Michael Levine from our firm drafted Andrew’s Law, an amendment to the Chad Meredith Act intended to incentivize those who haze to call 911 and seek help for the hazing victim before it is too late to save them. The law was named for Andrew Coffey, a young man who died in a fraternity hazing event at Florida State University and whose family was also represented by David and Michael.
